The paintings and monotypes of Katie Weiss reflect a sense of place and a feeling for the particular qualities of light, depth and movement. The images are rooted in personal experience and based on direct observation, as well as from photographs, drawings and memory. Born in 1945, Weiss lived in New York City for over 30 years. Currently she lives and works in New Jersey. Her work has been exhibited regionally and nationally. She joined Prince Street Gallery in 2012.
