Bio

Margaret Tsirantonakis was born in Crete, Greece, raised in Queens, New York, and now lives and works in Stamford, CT. She attended Parsons School of Design in NYC with a BFA in Painting. Tsirantonakis is known for her intense and varied use of color. An important influence on her paintings and works on paper are her frequent visits to her place of birth, Chania, Crete. While the Mediterranean light permeates her painterly sensibility, Tsirantonakis continues to explore abstract relationships between objects, shapes, landscape, color and mark-making. Tsirantonakis’ work has been exhibited in New York City, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Taos, NM and Greece. Her work is in corporate and private collections in the United States, Europe and Japan.
