While traveling in Mali and Nigeria, Roslyn Fassett has studied and collected African textiles. This series of African inspired paintings is based on a layering of textile patterns over a feminine image. Also exhibited are landscape paintings of reflection and duplication of the earth as revealed in its watery image. A group of figure drawings are included, as a visual echo of figures in motion, leaping, turning and reaching.

Ms. Fassett is a fine arts graduate of Cooper Union and has a Masters of Art History from CCNY. She has taught African Art History at SUNY Purchase and New Paltz. Her work has been widely exhibited and collected and she is a member of the Prince Street Gallery.
