Some anniversaries you just don’t want to miss. 80 years since the founding of the FEDERATION OF MODERN PAINTERS AND SCULPTORS is one of them. But sometimes the world intervenes, as it did this past year. One year later, we want to give that milestone a nod, for we need to tip the hat to a group of artists who first came together over issues of artistic freedom and have kept with that tradition ever since. From time to time the Federation organizes a thematic exhibition. The Federation has done exhibitions around music and poetry, but the sheer act of artists coming together, after such a year of isolation, is one that provides its own theme.
